Palacio Ico

Palacio Ico occupies a large manor house from 1690 that keeps its tile floors, 5-metre coffered ceilings, thick stone walls and wooden balconies, restored by the owners. In 2017 the Government of the Canary Islands gave it the category of Emblematic Hotel, the first in Lanzarote, because it stands in a property classified as historical heritage. The Swiss artist Heidi Bücher was a previous owner of the house, and works by Canarian artists such as Ildefonso Aguilar hang in the rooms.

There are only nine rooms and suites, each different, with the largest at 65 m². The hotel's own site lists a Canarian patio, a library of more than 300 art books, a vinyl collection, a restaurant (listed in the Michelin Guide and Repsol Guide according to the hotel), a brunch service and a Balinese spa with more than thirty treatments. Location

The hotel is at Calle el Rayo 2, in the historic centre of Teguise, in the interior of Lanzarote. It is a good base for following the César Manrique trail across the island, for example Jameos del Agua and the Mirador del Río, both reached by car. Allow time for the old town itself, which the hotel describes as the island's most charming town for its historical and artistic heritage.
